Instead, you’ll meet local farmers, yak herders and village people in the communities where you will be treated more as a guest than a tourist.as area of conservation and sustainable development. Stretched over 2600 sq. km., the area boasts of a variety of diverse cultures, tribes and castes as the Brahmins, Chettris, Newars, Gurungs, Magars, Manangis and the Tibetans. This area has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains. This area has the world's deepest river gorge, the Kali Gandaki, lying about 6900-metres/22,563 ft. below some of the world’s largest and most beautiful mountains as the Annapurna I (world's 8th highest) and Fishtail (one of the most beautiful). Animals and birds are in abundance in this region. 440 species of birds and animals like the marten, deer, langur and the elusive snow leopard dwell in this area.

28th May: Arrival in Kathmandu

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA) in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal which is a historically diverse ancient city with breathtaking art and architecture, monuments, cultural heritage, centuries-old Hindu and Buddhist religious sites as well as inspiring UNESCO World Heritage sites. The first day of the tour is simply an arrival day with no pre-organized activities. Our Young Tourism Professionals (YTPs) at the Hospitality Desk at TIA will welcome and assist you for the transfer to your hotel.

29th May: Drive to Pokhara

Leaving Kathmandu on one of the country's busiest roads can be slow, but once out of the city the views are impressive - the Trisuli River and the massive Marsyangdi Hydroelectric Project powerhouse as well as ancient stone villages backed by steep rice terraces and the mountains beyond. Crossing the Madi River, climbing again (with view of deep rocky gorges crossed by suspension bridges) before descending to the broad Seti Valley and Pokhara Valley (205 km, 6 hrs).
En route, guests may enjoy a 3 hour’s White Water River Rafting on the Trisuli River that flows parallel to the highway, thus easily enabling the vehicle to drop off at the starting point and pick up from the ending point down stream.
On arrival at Pokhara, check in at the hotel.

30th May: Free Day in Pokhara to enjoy the optional tours and activities available such as; Bunjee Jumping, Zip Flying, Paragliding (subject to weather), Ultra-Light Flights (subject to weather), Biking / Cycling, Boating, Hiking, etc.

31st May: Drive from Pokhara to Galeshwar (1170m) and trek to Bas Kharka

Overnight at Community Trekkers Inn / Teahouses.
Starting from Pokhara, you are driven (Appx. 3hrs) to Galeshwar via Beni, where you start your trek.
Heading up to Bas Kharka (1525m / 3hrs) from Galeshwar, you pass through scattered farmhouses, climbing through forest and then orange groves as you approach this attractive village. You will have time to explore this Magar village, maybe visit the school and health post. In season, enjoy the sweet oranges that grow on the hillsides here.

1st June: Trek from Bas Kharka to Nangi

Overnight at Community Trekkers Inn / Teahouses.
Hike up through the forest to Danda Kaske where you stop for lunch. Overlooking the valleys, this is a great place to meet some of the local people and admire the views. After lunch, it is a leisurely walk to Nangi (2300m), the main village where you will spend the night. Here you can visit the school, see how the villagers make paper from the locally grown plants, visit a medicinal plant nursery and a number of other income-generating projects (4-5hrs).

2nd June: Trek from Nangi to Mohare

Today (5-6hrs), you climb through forest with stunning views of the mountains. Up on the top of Mohare Danda (3300m), you can see the Himalayas stretching as far as the eye can see, with close-up views of Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail Mountain) and Dhaulagiri. Surrounded by forest, do not be surprised to meet yaks grazing nearby. There is no village here but here is the highest wireless internet relay station in Nepal, providing internet to the remote villages for schools and health posts that use tele-medicine, linking up with hospitals in Kathmandu to provide better healthcare in the villages.

3rd June: Trek from Mohare to Tikot via Danda Kharka

A fantastic ridge walks with marvelous views in every direction before descending through forest to the secluded lodge at Danda Kharka. The mountains here seem so close you feel could reach out and touch them (2800m / 2hrs).
Continuing down, pass through changing scenery as you reach Tikot, a village of narrow lanes and beautiful houses. Here you visit the school and experience the fascinating Mayar dance tradition (the men dress as women, while the women sing traditional songs). Staying with families in their homes you are treated to a close-up glimpse of village life in this fascinating and bustling village. Sit and watch the women carrying huge mountains of grass to feed their buffalo; see the children clutching their books on their way to school; see the villagers working in their fields (2300m / 5-6hrs).

4th June: Trek from Tikot to Tipling and drive back to Pokhara

From Tikot, you descend a steep path (Appx. 3hrs) down to Tipling, with amazing sheer views down to the Kali Ghandaki River below. On arrival at Tipling from Tikot, you are transported back to Pokhara via Beni (4-5hrs drive).

5th June: Drive to Kathmandu

Leaving Pokhara on the Prithvi Highway, climb out of the Seti valley into the central hills, with its views of deep rocky gorges crossed by rapidly flowing rivers and precarious suspension bridges. This is Nepal's busiest road, especially after the Mugling intersection, so concentrate on the magnificent mountain views, not the slow traffic. Approximately 205 kms, but can take 6 hours.
